House of Troy is founded by Everett Bailey in 1947 in Montreal, Canada. It all started as a small custom lamp manufacturing company that sells to gift and department stores in Montreal. Then his son, Norm, took over in 1960, where this company started making picture lights. He then moved the business to North Troy, Vermont in 1962, hence the name House of Troy.

The company is known for its hand-craftsmanship which didn’t change for the past seventy years. Each of their products is rolled by hand, soldered, buffed, and assembled by their artistic employees in Vermont. The majority of their products are designed and manufactured in Vermont but they also source some parts and products worldwide.
